Sheri Roedel

Federal Grant Manager, Los Angeles

Sheri Roedel comes to LDC with over 25 years of experience in education. Sheri is focused on educational equity as the lever for transformative change. She firmly believes that rigorous instruction, paired with culturally responsive teaching practices, have a direct impact on student success in and outside of school.  

Sheri started her educational journey as a classroom teacher in Chicago Public Schools. Following a decade in the classroom, Sheri transitioned into a teaching and leadership role at the University of Chicago preparing teachers for large urban school districts across the country. Recently, Sheri directed a teacher residency program in Los Angeles. Through all of her roles, Sheri has remained committed to urban education initiatives that produce positive outcomes for children and families. Joining the dynamic LDC team allows her to continue this work through literacy and leadership practices. 

Sheri is engaged in volunteer work with Los Angeles-based organizations for the unhoused. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family exploring the California coast and sampling new culinary establishments.
