Chadae believes education is liberating and creating high quality instruction for all students, especially those at the margins of society, is inextricably linked to social justice.
As a New York native, who also taught in NYC public schools, Chadae brings with her diverse teaching practices and uses culturally responsive pedagogy as her orientation towards teaching and learning. She has worked on teams to create culturally responsive curriculum, and supported teachers in its implementation while also leading equity leadership teams and facilitating professional development.
Chadae obtained her Bachelors of English from Lehman College, and her masters in education from Relay Graduate School of Education, during her time as a Teach for America corps member. As a lifelong learner herself, she is committed to researching new ways to innovate educational practices to support 21st century learners and our ever evolving society. She is currently interested to learn more about combining culturally responsive pedagogy and neuroscience to create rigorous and engaging learning experiences.
In her free time she enjoys reading, writing, and spending time with family. Chadae is constantly inspired by the youth, and raising her daughter serves as a frequent reminder that empowering young people to authentically be themselves and lead their learning experiences, with support and guidance, is transformative for their growth and our society.
