December 21st, 2016

LDC Program Assistant

The Literacy Design Collaborative, in partnership with Robert Louis Stevenson Elementary School, is hosting two professional development opportunities February 9–11, 2017.

You are invited to join us in sunny Florida for an LDC Demonstration Day and an Advanced Coaches’ Institute.

About Demo Day

On February 10, R.L. Stevenson teachers are opening their classrooms to visitors. You will be able to see LDC implementation in practice. This veteran site is currently working on curriculum mapping and is home to strong teachers and active leadership through a wonderful principal and administrative staff. After the classroom visits, visitors will have the opportunity to discuss what they saw more deeply and to think about systems and structures for strengthening or establishing thriving professional learning communities (PLCs). Demo Days are the perfect opportunity for school leaders and district teams who are considering LDC to see the power of the work.

About the Advanced Coaches’ Institute

In conjunction with the Demo Day, LDC will offer advanced training for coaches with an Advanced Coaches' Institute on February 9–11. This two-day workshop event was designed to take coaching skills to the next level. The focus will be on innovative professional development, quality implementation, and critical coaching skills to support teachers using LDC's online professional learning resources. The workshop will be a full day (8am to 4pm) on Thursday, February 9, include the demonstration day on February 10, and conclude with a half-day (8am to 1pm) on Saturday, February 11.
